Unplanned. Some days it is harder than others to get in the run, or you may skip the run or not get in all of the expected miles. This is usually a let down for me when this happens. Today however this is not the case. I felt good all day but just de used to not run. I am feeling quite good about where I am with my training and taking off today can only help in the long term. That said, one day off is great but 2 days off in a row would be a disaster. The strategy is to allow this unplanned day of rest to rebound into a monster week 9. We'll see.

i was watching sportscenter the other day and they were interviewing the evil team's head coach. they asked him about his decision to bench A-rod two days in a row and he said something like this: "getting a day off here and there is needed. However, I remember when i used to play int he league, if i got 2 days off in a row, that second day would pay off exponentially."
ReplyDeletedon't be afraid to rest. may seem like a step backwards, but sometimes you need to take 1 step back in order to take 2 steps forward.
