Another week in the books. Today was an easy run to end the week. Ran 5.5 miles then did 1.5 miles of half mile hill repeats.
Total miles for the week 52.95. I think I am ready for the big build. We shall see.

D5-rest and ate two days worth of food. I like to eat.
D6- ran 5 L's. Ended up being 5.25 miles, avg pace 718.
Got a late start and I really dislike running in temp's above 80. So I called it a day at 5.

When I train and I feel good on a particular day I'll go a bit harder or farther that planned for that day. I figure I should listen to my body to get the most out of my training. Today, I planned to go 10-11 miles on the L but I felt so great when 11 came around I decided to get in my long run for the week today. It was a beautiful day with low humidity and cooler that usual temperatures. The people in the neighborhood and the people doing construction think I am a nuts for running laps around the neighborhood for two and a half hours but oh well. It is pretty nice to have the long run out of the way also.
Total miles 20.6 miles, 7:49 pace.

Well, I've come to terms with the fact that running in burleson sucks. It isn't so bad if you fat set the 1 mile on the highway shoulder but I'm not there yet. So I decided to do the 1 mile neighborhood loop. It is like running around the perimeter of an L. The long part of the L is .4 miles with a 90ft elevation change, so it makes for a good hill routine. Today I did 7 loops around the L which wasn't as bad as I expected. We will see how it goes on Saturday when I go for 22 L's.

A runner's endurance.

Runners must have endurance, but we endure more than long distances on the road. During my short couple of years of running and marathon training the physical endurance required to run long distances is nothing compared to enduring waking up on sat morning at hours others only scoff at. Honks and remarks from less than friendly drivers who believe I don't belong on their street and can't understand why I don't just run on that ridiculosly cambered sidewalk. The ever so common question of aren't you worried about your knees. Chaffing in unmentionable places on my body. Portable toilets in public parks (my least favorite by far but almost unavoidable). Sunburns because no sunscreen can make it thru a 2 hr run. I am sure the list could go on for pages.
It's enough to make any sane person reconsider and look for another sport but I have never xomaisered myself 100% sane anyway.

It's a tough life, but someone has to live it.

Saturday long rum. Today was just a long run, nothingmpre nothing less. No closing, no high lights or lowlights. I was just glad to finish the run. Staying in burleson I was not very familiar with the area but went for it. Left at 0545 with 2 gu ( not enough) and 6 thermolytes (enough). Headed down the highway for 4 miles until I saw a starbucks on the distance ( water stop #1). Continued another 3 miles and saw a local park(water stop #2). I basically rambled on for the next 3 before turning around. Stopped at the same park for water on the way back and the local quick lube also(I don't think they appreciated my visit but I needed water). Saturday long run in the books. Total distance 20.5, pace 7:58.

Rode to the track. 1 mil warmup, 2* 3 mile( 2050, 2035). Rode home. Now I get to run to lowes to pick up some straps for packing. I am literally running up there since I don't have a car. It is about 4 miles round trip. Total miles, 11.

Ran 5.8 miles on the local frisbee golf course. Someone has to put that place to proper use. Took it easy today in preparation for tomorrow's bundle of fun.

High mileage weeks and unemployment go well together.
Went 13.2 miles this morning 745 pace, after the 2 mile weenie dog warmup.
Total miles 15.2.

The weenies are building their endurance also. As they appear unphased
after their 2 mile warm up this morning. I had to pry koda out of the
covers. 947 pace

Cooper is ready for the warm-up!

Ten mile run turned 12. Started with a one mile run with koda and cooper. Then began the 10. Didn't loosen up tip aboutb5 miles in. Finished the run at a more comfortable 730 is pace. Total distance 12.

Ran 7days this week. Today was 10 miles. Avg pace 726. Ran the last 2 miles under 14 Min. Was a good week. Total miles 66.

Koda is wasted after his 1 mile Sunday run. 9:30 pace.

Last Saturday long run with the rogue group. It was 16 miles for me others went further. Closed the last 4 miles @ 6.50ish a bit faster for the last mile. Avg pace for the run 735.

Ran at memorial park. Did art loop and mostly trails. Was nice to change the route a bit. Ran with michael , he walked me the last 2.5 miles but that is good, let's me know where I am. Total miles 10.1. Not sure of pace due road trees ontrail blocking the signal. Good rim though.

Last day of the first week. Ran the first 2.5 miles with Koda and Cooper. 2.5 Miles at 9 min pace (way to go k&c, they were soldiers). Dropped the pups off at the house and finished the run. Total miles 8.5. Closed the last 2 miles, 640/mile. Total MPW = 54.5.
